Stance Equitec Ketagin for Horses
What is KetagenĀ®?
Horses in heavy work often benefit from a diet high in oils that contain the essential fatty acids known as omega-3 and omega-6. The benefits of feeding a horse oil include continued support in the production of energy, coat, mane and tail condition, and may help to prolong the onset of lactic acid. However, as horses do not have a gall bladder, this limits the amount of dietary oil and fats they can tolerate and utilise.
Ketagen is designed to assist oil metabolisation in the horseās digestive system and may permit for greater conversion of oil into energy. Which in turn allows us to feed more oil. With added antioxidants and ginseng to aid normal mental and physical performance, Ketagen also supports the general health and well-being of the horse.
- May support oil metabolism
- May protect against free radical damage
- Promotes proper glucose utlisation
- Promotes normal recovery time after strenuous activity
- For horses
About the Ingredients
EPA and DHAĀ in Ketagen are the essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6ās. These omegas are not manufactured by the horseās body so it is important that they are sourced from their diet. The benefits of feeding omega-3s may include reduced joint inflammation and decreased joint pain.
BredolĀ is added as it is an emulsifier. It is thought to increase the effect of bile, which may improve fat digestion.
Siberian GinsengĀ may offer physical and mental performance assistance to aid the horse when competing or working.
L-CarnitineĀ is an amino acid involved in the transportation of fats into muscle cells. By using fat as energy for muscle contractions, the body is sparing glycogen and also delaying the accumulation of lactic acid. A reduction in lactic acid may improve performance and endurance.
Gamma oryzanolĀ is an antioxidant compound. It may support muscle building, reduce lactic acid build up and may improve performance. Antioxidants are also known to assist in the prevention of free radical damage, improving the general health of the horse.
